We are experiencing record rainfalls in Kyushu setting new records for daily, monthly and annual totals. Kuma Village, Kumamoto saw 83.5 mm (3.3 inches) of rainfall in one hour on Saturday morning and Kanoya City, Kagoshima 109.5 mm (4.3 inches) in one hour on Monday. Each year rainy season brings in about 20 inches of rain over a 5 week period. We have already passed the average total. Major flooding and landslides happen during this time.

We are enlisting our church family in their first mission ever through providing relief to those impacted. We will seek out those that will allow us to help with mucking out their homes to prepare for rebuild and whatever else we are called to do.

We are also engaging our local community to donate old towels to be used for clean up purposes. Volunteering is second nature for many in America but in Japan to help strangers and receive help from strangers is a bit foreign. These efforts bring much needed relief and also open the door for people to experience the hands and feet of Jesus!

Towels collected and shipped to Saitama for Typhoon Hagibis relief effort.

Please join us in our efforts. Your generosity provides relief to those in need, exposes Jesus to many who have never experienced Him and grows the faith of many of our church family members.
