God Shows Up
I am reminded of the early church in Acts 2:42 – 47. As we have been preparing for our mission for the past couple of years, we have shared our lives together with others. Studying what the apostles taught. Eating meals together in our homes. Praying together. Amazed at what God has been doing. Stuff has been sold and shared with others in need. Praising God.
We are so humbled by God’s provision through the generosity of our community. We want to share some of the ways we have seen God show up in the past few weeks and we share this because we want everyone to be amazed at what God is doing through you and others like you. Thank you!
Car Accident
We were t-boned in a car accident last month. We are so thankful no one was injured. The car was totaled which means we don’t have to find a buyer to take over our lease payments. Our last big ticket item to get rid of – GONE! And then to top it off, A family in our community reached out to us and freely loaned us one of their vehicles until we depart to Japan. How awesome is that?
Airline Tickets
Roughly 4 hours after our last update we received a response from a friend in our community offering us airline tickets for our travel to Japan. Again, how awesome it that?
Partnering Relationships
We have had a few opportunities to share our story and mission over the past few weeks. We have grown in new relationships and our community continues to pour out prayers and financially parter with us in God’s mission in Japan. We shared that we were at 4.5% a couple weeks ago. We are now at 11.5% of our operational monthly budget. We have roughly 89% to go in the next 90 days. I believe we will get there. Our hope remains that many believers in the body of Christ will fuel our work by doing a little* each month in a recurring donation. This is our biggest need. We know we can’t do it alone. With the words ringing in my head on a run earlier this year: Lean more into Me and the body of Christ. This is what we have done and will continue to do!
In addition, people have crossed our path that have been to Japan as missionaries, are going, or have a call/desire to go. We just met a missionary family that has returned after being in Japan 20 YEARS! Another family just left in September. We were connected with a missionary family that served in Japan for 2 years, experienced some challenges but left the country with a beautiful little boy that is no longer an orphan! I could keep going, but let me end by saying… I feel a revival happening in Japan!
* little: defined as a monthly recurring gift of $25 (83 cents a day)
Giving Thanks
We give thanks daily to all that have shared time with us and have decided to fuel our work in bringing hope to one of the largest unreached people group in the world. And our desire is that more of you will join us!
