What if…

I don’t know about you, but all my life I have thought or verbalized this hypothetical question that would counter or even sabotage a thought or idea that would produce a desired outcome or result. Or as an open-ended question planting a seed of hope that would one day, with God’s grace, come to fruition. I don’t know about you, but I like to choose the latter especially when God’s grace is involved in the outcome.

In 2016, in the midst of preparing for our mission to Japan, I sat at our local church, Crossroads Florence, conversing with a friend after assisting Japanese children with their American school homework. We often contemplated our futures in Japan. He was leaving to teach English in Northern Japan and I, setting out with our family, as long-term church planting missionaries in Southern Japan. I remember verbalizing “what if we ended up working side-by-side in ministry together in the future?”

Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.  Commit everything you do to the Lord.  Trust him, and he will help you.  Psalm 37:4-5

Celebrate with us as my friend and brother in Christ, Hamilton Davis, will be arriving in April as our first long-term missionary. We will continue building upon our English House Reachout using English as a tool to love on children in our community and connect with their families. This Reachout also serves as a tent making ministry to aid in supporting our missionaries. This Reachout opens the door to start our Kids Club ministry in turn inviting more Moms and Dads to church hearing about Jesus for the very first time, growing and developing a community of Christ-followers.

What’s next?

Did you know Christian missionaries to Japan are on a downward trend (34% over the last 20 years)? God has already prepared His harvest here in Japan but the workers are few. We desire to reverse this trend. So:

What if…. we can invite, train, and equip more missionaries to start and lead an English House Reachout paired with planting a church in multiple communities throughout Japan. This is our hope and this is our mission! Check out the updates we’ve made to our website!

We are excited what God is doing in and through our mission in Japan and we are humbled and honored having you run along side us.

Prayer

Here is list of areas we would like prayer:

  • For safe travels and a smooth transition for Hamilton.
  • That we are in a financial position to secure housing around his arrival time.
  • Ethan will be starting pre-school in April which means a lot of adjustments for him and us.
  • Chloe saw some pictures of family and friends in America and said: “I miss them, I want to see my big brother. I love America the best. Daddy, why did we move to Japan?” I love her heart!

Please, share with us what we can be praying for.

Gratefully Yours,

Team Adams
